I have always been told to look beyond the horizon because the beauty we see extends beyond the limit of our sights.
Growing up, I learnt a very important lesson from my grandmother.
In primary school, before exams commences, my grandmother will call me and my younger sister. She would say: whoever is among the top 10 in class gets a special gift.
The gift inspired us to learn more. We strived to be part of the best in our classes. True to her words, the gifts always came in addition to our favourite meals.
My grandmother always said “when you aim high, even if you have to fall, you won’t fall in the mud. You will fall a little lower from your set point but never to the ground.”
Don’t let your life be driven by the wind because it will lead you in the wrong direction. Set goals and work on them. Have a mental picture of how you want your life to be and work to achieve it.
It won’t be easy but will be worth it.
Do not live in mediocrity. Always aim high and pursue excellence.
